The Valencian defender celebrated the team achieving their European aim and hailed his team-mates’ work
Villarreal defender Jaume Costa analysed the win against Sivasspor, which saw Villarreal seal their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League as group winners: “The team knew what they had to do to have a good game. Defend well and make the most of the opportunities that came up. That’s what happened, with the best chance of the second half we scored the goal to send us through.”
For Costa, one of the keys to the good season so far for the Yellows has been the impressive level of his team-mates: “Whoever takes to the pitch, the team are getting good results. All of my team-mates are getting chances, and when they have them, they perform well and give they’re all. We’re in a good moment, both in LaLiga and in the Europa League. It’s what the team deserves.”
