

Villarreal U23s will take on Arsenal this Wednesday at Meadow Park (8pm)
Villarreal B manager, Miguel Álvarez, has announced his squad for the second Group A game in the Premier League International Cup which will see the Yellows U23 side face Arsenal FC on Wednesday at 8pm (Spanish time) at Boreham Wood FC’s Meadow Park ground.
The aim of the Premier League International Cup is to promote and strengthen youth football on British soil, with it being a learning experience to play alongside teams from the most powerful leagues in Europe. The tournament is made up of 24 teams: 12 British sides and 12 other clubs from around Europe with a tradition of a strong academy, including Villarreal CF.
On this occasion, the Yellows U23s have been placed in Group A alongside Arsenal, Leicester City and Dinamo Zagreb. In their first game, Villarreal U23s lost 2-1 to the Croatian side.
The 18 players in the squad are:
- Goalkeepers: Josele and Marc Vidal.
- Defenders: Pepe Castaño, Goyo, Carlos Blanco, Edu Adell, Sofian Chakla and Andrei.
- Midfielders: Beitia, Fran Álvarez, Iván Morante, Agüero, Iván Martín, Baena and Lozano.
- Forwards: Millán, Edu Espiau and Collado.
Travel plan
The Yellow expedition leaves from Valencia Airport (2:15pm) this afternoon and will fly to Heathrow Airport. Once in England, the Yellows will stay at the Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel. The return to Spain is scheduled for Thursday, arriving at Valencia Airport at approximately 1:30pm.
