Villarreal B recovered from a goal that should not have counted against them to draw in the last minute

Villarreal B drew on their visit to Castalia. Miguel Álvarez’s side picked up a point against CD Castellón. The ‘groguets’ went in at half-time 0-2, but the home side managed to turn the scoreline around with a lot of controversy, as the third goal should not have gone in. Faced with the injustice, the Mini Submarine reacted in the 90th minute to level the match and put the scores level.

The match began with respect between the two sides. Equality prevailed on the Castalia pitch, and there were hardly any goal scoring opportunities until just before the half hour mark. In the 27th minute, Ahn’s goal was disallowed by the referee for an alleged handball by the South Korean Villarreal B player.

Immediately afterwards, CD Castellón responded with a double chance. Jeremy De León almost gave the home side the lead with a shot that was blocked by the onrushing Pablo Iñiguez almost on the goal line. In the next chance, Mario Barco shot wide from a good ball from a corner.

Before the break, Villarreal B showed their impressive firepower by scoring twice. The first goal, scored by Álex Forés, came after an excellent run by Migue Leal down the centre. The second also had the defender from Vila-Real as the protagonist. The yellows’ number ‘2’ put the ball into the box and Dani Tasende, with a marvellous control, got away from his marker and beat Campos for the second time in five minutes. The B team were now 0-2 up and in control at Castalia.

On the way back from the changing rooms, CD Castellón made it clear that they had not had their last word. In the 48th minute, Mario Barco headed home a ball from the right flank. Despite the early goal, the Mini Submarino responded with a shot against the post from Álex Forés and a corner that almost ended up in the back of the home goal.

At the end of the game, Castellón began to put balls into the box in search of the second goal, which came in the 75th minute through Koné. With three minutes of normal time remaining, the home side scored the third in an action in which the ball did not cross the goal line. In the face of this injustice, Villarreal fought back with a goal from Migue in the 90th minute.
