Clinical against Betis Deportivo with a touch of magic (3-0)
The Mini Submarine shut down the visitors’ talent and convincingly overcame the Betis B side
Villarreal B got the win with a touch of magic against Betis Deportivo (3-0). Miguel Álvarez’s side put on a very solid performance and outplayed their opponents with a convincing display of quality football. The ‘groguets’ have now won their second consecutive match and consolidate their position at the top of Group 2 of the First RFEF. The Yellows’ goals came from Arana, Lozano and Forés.
The Yellows started the game on top and the first great chance for the Yellows came in the 10th minute. Arana hit the crossbar and the first chance for the ‘grogueta’. The Canary Islands striker first gave a warning and then made no mistake. Halfway through the first half, the yellow’s number ‘9’ gave Villarreal B the lead when he put the ball into the back of the net after a great ball from Lozano from the right wing.
Juan Carlos Arana and Sergio Lozano swapped roles and this time it was the Canary Islander who set up the Valencian with a superb back-heeled assist for Lozano to beat Rebollo and give Miguel Álvarez’s side the 2-0 lead at a time when they needed it most.
Just before the final whistle, new man Álex Forés showed his goalscoring instincts by scoring on the counter-attack to seal the game at the Mini Estadi. Villarreal B now have 46 points and continue to lead the competitive Primera RFEF.
