The Colombian striker is the only footballer in Villarreal history to go home with the match ball on three different occasions

Juan Román Riquelme, Diego Forlán, Ike Uche, Joseba Llorente, Cédric Bakambu, Gerard Moreno and Karl Toko Ekambi, know what scoring three or more goals in a game is like, having taken the match ball home for Villarreal CF as a sweet memory.

However. When you speak about hat-tricks, there is no-one like Carlos Bacca in Villarreal CF history. The Colombian forward is the only player who has scored one on three difference occasions for the Yellows in the elite.

This Sunday against Sevilla, Bacca wrote his name into the club’s history books after scoring three goals against his former team, beating the two hat-tricks for the club that Diego Forlán had, in a performance that showed his goalscoring instinct.

The Colombian had scored three goals in a match for the Yellows on two previous occasions. The first was in the 2017/18 campaign against RC Celta (4-1) and the second was against Comillas CF (5-0) in the first round of the Copa del Rey last season (2019/20).
