The B team centre midfielder has become the sixth Vila-real native to play at the top for Villarreal CF
A very special debut. Carlo Adriano has become the sixth Vila-real player to play at the elite level for Villarreal CF. The Yellows youngster achieved this feat after making his debut for the first team on Wednesday night in the Copa del Rey against SD Leioa (6-0).
Thus, the centre midfielder joins Héctor Font, César Arzo, Xisco Nadal, Pau Torres and Migue Leal as the only players from the town of Vila-real who have represented their hometown club in the top flight.
It should also be mentioned that Carlos Adriano has 100% ‘groguet’ DNA. No wonder, as the talented Yellows midfielder is the son of legendary goalscorer Adriano García, who played for Villarreal CF in the Second Division B at the end of the 80s.
