The Villarreal Manager said his side deserved more against Sevilla
The Villarreal CF Manager, Javi Calleja, said his team deserved to come away with a better result against Sevilla FC at the Estadio de la Cerámica (2-3). “It was a shame. We played well and to come away without the win and with no points is a shame. Up until 2-1 we had the game under control. Then we lost the possession and committed errors at the back. It was a heavy punishment though”, Calleja commented.
According to Calleja, the defeat has hurt the players, but he recognised that his side must pick themselves up and brush themselves off now: “We didn’t deserve this result. Certain actions had the final say in the game. The team is hurt by the result because we gave a great effort. We could have won. We have to lift our heads and turn the page now. We’ll try to turn the cup tie around against SD Ponferradina this week”.
