The Yellows head coach expects to face a strong and battling Almería side
Villarreal manager Javi Calleja has appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming cup tie against UD Almería (Wednesday, 8:30pm CET): “We are heading into the match really excited. The Copa del Rey is a competition that motivates all of us and we want to progress far in the competition.”
The coach has recognised that he is expecting to face a ‘brave’ side, one that will arrive at La Cerámica with the aim of tasting victory: “We are expecting an Almería side like the one we saw in the first leg. A brave side, one that comes to fight and try and get the victory. We need to pay attention at set pieces and to be an ambitious team that wants the ball and wants to test the opposition’s goalkeeper.”
Calleja underlined that Villarreal have four important matches before the end of 2018: “We have four ties to finish the year well. We want to win all four to put the team where it belongs to be. The first step is winning tomorrow. To do so, we need to play well, and show attitude and good play.”
