The Mini Submarine dropped two points away to direct rivals

Villarreal B had a very important and demanding game against FC Andorra, a direct rival in the fight for survival. The Yellows went all out at the Estadi Nacional and knew how to suffer when they had to in order to keep the scoreboard ticking over and get a good point away from home.

Miguel Álvarez’s side did not shy away from the pressure and Espigares headed a ball against the post in the first minute of play. The intentions of going for the game were clear. Forés also had a chance in a one-on-one, but immediately afterwards, Pombo beat Iker Álvarez, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

In the second half, Jorge Pascual started the second half from the centre of the pitch and found himself alone in front of Ratti, but under pressure from a defender, he missed the target. For his part, Iker pulled off two fine saves to keep the B team in with a chance of winning the game.

It was Collado, who had just entered the field of play, who scored the Yellows’ goal, beating Ratti despite being off his line and shooting with his weaker foot. The Granada-born player thus gave the Mini Submarine a momentary victory. However, Scheidler equalised in the last minute of normal time, before ten minutes of heart-stopping stoppage time in which there were no more goals.

Villarreal B’s next game will take place next Saturday at 6:30pm CET at the Estadio de la Cerámica against Real Zaragoza.
