Raúl Albiol will face one of his former sides at the Estadio de la Cerámica (Sunday, 9pm CEST)
Villarreal centre-back Raúl Albiol underlined his excitement ahead of the important match this upcoming Sunday against Real Madrid at the Estadio de la Cerámica (9pm CEST). “Beating a big side like Madrid, is always more special and we have good players to do so. Between all of us, we can beat them. All I’m asking of our fans is that they get behind the team, they support us and they come to the game to enjoy it and help the team,” he commented.
For Albiol, it will be a challenge: “Madrid aren’t going through their best spell, but they’re Real Madrid and it’s always difficult to play against them. I’m not relaxed about playing them at all, they don’t need o play well to win matches or titles. They have great players, with 1,000 matches behind them and they aren’t going to let what happened to them in previous games happen again.”
Albiol will face a former side of his: “It’s always special to play against one of your old clubs. Madrid are one of the best in the world with a great history. You don’t forget facing them,” he underlined.
According to the Yellows Submarine centre-back, the team is ready: “Despite not having won yet, I think the team is in a good place and wants to win the next match. We hope to improve what we’re doing well, and improve what we’re not doing well too. We feel good, the team is calm and keen on playing this game,” he concluded.
