Escribá said the team will go out to get the win after two consecutive defeats
A need and a passion for the three points. Today Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, stated that the only thing the team has in mind is to go out and take their chances against Leganés, the Submarine’s next opponents in the LaLiga Santander (Saturday, 6:30pm CET, Municipal de Butarque stadium). “The aim is to win. We always go out with winning in mind and in this match, as in those prior, we’re going to go all out for the three points. After that we’ll see how the game goes and if we can do it, but the aim is always to go for the win. We’re coming off the back of a win against Toledo, but we know the competitions are different. We’ve lost two games back to back in the league and we know how this looks. This team is capable of putting together a series of victories now though, as we’ve already shown this season. So I’m relaxed, knowing the team will put in a great performance and that the team has a winning mindset”.
The Yellows Manager also confirmed that he won’t have captain, Bruno, available, nor Cheryshev: “In terms of injuries we have Bruno out, who has a bruised calcaneus, and Cheryshev isn’t available either, as he continues to have muscular niggles, but they’re nothing serious. This is a blow for us as they’re both key players, however we have players that can substitute them without problem. We have Trigueros, Jonathan and Rodri who can all play in the centre midfield for this match”.
With regard to the white-and-blues, Escribá explained that the Madrid side’s results are deceiving, “They need the win, they have a lot of injuries, but a lot of quality and a game that can make things difficult for us. I don’t think their results have done them justice, they have the same order in their team that got them up to the First Division and have competed well at the start of this season”.
