The Canarian striker scored twice against UE Cornellà and was named in the Footters Team of the Week

Juan Carlos Arana is in good form. The Villarreal B forward scored a double on Matchday 2 of the Primera RFEF Footters season against UE Cornellà, playing an important win in the Mini Submarine’s victory (3-0) over the Catalan side. The attacker, from the Canary Islands, was named in the league’s Team of the Week by Footters, the television rights holder for the Spanish third tier. Arana was named up front in the side, which was made up of players from both Primera RFEF groups. On Matchday 1, the striker also put in an impressive performance, providing an assist for Nicolás Jackson’s goal.

Despite his early-season success, the Villarreal B footballer wanted to be prudent regarding expectation: “This is a very long season, and it isn’t about how you start, but how you finish. There are teams with big budgets with promotion in mind and we are going to have to fight until the last game.” Villarreal B will try to extend their winning run against one of the toughest teams in the division, Atlético Baleares, the only team in the group, alongside the Mini Submarine, who have taken six points from their opening two matches. Arana is clear that commitment is the way forward: “I’m committed to the death, whether there’s a positive result or not, or regardless if I score, from the first day until the very last minute.”
