Miguel Álvarez has highlighted the day-to-day work of his players before they host FC Andorra on Saturday at 9pm CEST

Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming match against FC Andorra at the Mini Estadi (Saturday, 9pm CEST).

Previous meetings

“Last year, they had a very good squad. We put in good performances, but they won. This season, they’ve strengthened well too. They also beat us in pre-season, but we’ve grown a lot, and we’re going to make it hard for them.”

Positive form

“The boys deserve all the praise they’re getting, and it won’t weaken them because they work hard. Every side loses, and one day we will lose. If you’re in a B team, the result can’t take you away from the path you’re on, which is growth. They have to be ready to perform with the first team if Unai Emery needs them. We’re enjoying the moment.”

The team, ready

“We’ve going into the game phenomenally. We don’t have any injuries. Some players were in action in the Youth League, playing phenomenal football and getting a great result. Everyone is available and we’re going into the game hoping to win it, and focusing on what could give us the win.”

 Yeremy

“Everything we say about him falls short. There’s a massive work behind his success from every coach. I’m someone who has worked least with him. He’s a player continuously improving, and that’s something innate in him. Everything has to line up perfectly for a case like this, with immediate results and coaches trusting in you. He has massive self-belief, and you can see that in games. If nothing happens out of the ordinary, he will be a very important player in Spanish football.”

The key to the game

“I’m expecting a game where we have to dig in a lot, like we always do against Andorra. They have very experienced players, with a high technical level. They’re capable of getting the ball from us and we have to enjoy the defensive work. Anyone who wants to beat us will have to work hard for it.”
