Raúl Albiol, Pau Torres and Vicente Iborra have played more than 1000 minutes this season

The Yellows’ players Raúl Albiol, Pau Torres and Vicente Iborra have played more than 1000 minutes in official matches this season. The Villarreal CF midfielder and defenders have become key players for the manager Javi Calleja. Not surprisingly, they have made the headlines in all matches that the Submarine have played in the LaLiga 2019/20 season.

The Yellows’ midfielder, Vicente Iborra, has a total of 1053 minutes. He has played nine full matches and has been substituted only in the final minutes of the games against Granada (83’), Real Valladolid (74’) and Osasuna (86’).

Raúl Albiol has accumulated 1078 minutes, having played 11 of the 12 matches that the Submarine has played in LaLiga. With only one substitution in the 88th minute against Levante, the defender has represented the Spanish national team in games against Norway and Sweden during qualifications for the European Championship.

Finally, in his first season as a first team player, Pau Francisco Torres is the only Villarreal CF player who has played every minute of competition (1080). Like his teammate in the centre of defence, the home-grown player received the reward of a call-up for La Roja, although he failed to make his debut with the national team.

Other players that are close to reaching 1000 minutes this season are Gerard Moreno (970) and Santi Cazorla (920).
