Villarreal impress at La Cerámica as the fans cheered on the team to beat Real Betis
A brilliant performance by Villarreal at La Cerámica. The Submarine were impressive with their good play. The team started the game by wanting to take control of the ball, with Arnaut Danjuma electric up front. The Dutch attacker once more showed his qualities, causing a number of problems for the Andalusian side’s defence. Real Betis, however, did cause danger on the counter attack, peppering Gero Rulli’s area.
It was Danjuma who had the first clear chance of the first half. The Dutch attacker beat Rui Silva, but Edgar cleared the ball on the line. Just before half-time, it was him who scored the first goal of the game. The attacker got the ball on the left of the box, cut inside, and sent the ball into the back of the net at the near post.
Despite leading on the scoreboard, Villarreal were fired up and went into the second half keen on extending their lead. Yeremy Pino had a goal ruled out for offside in the first minute. The winger had another shot that hit the post, although the assistant referee had raised his flag for an offside by Pervis Estupiñán, who had put the ball into the box.
The Danjuma-Yeremy duo in attack had a number of chances during the game, finding spaces in a number of moments. Once more it was the Dutchman who found the back of the net, dribbling past Rui Silva after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Villarreal sealed the win against a Real Betis team who went head-to-head with the Yellows all game.
Next up for Villarreal CF is a LaLiga match against CA Osasuna on Sunday 17th October (6:30pm CEST) at the Estadio de la Cerámica, after the international break.
