The Yellows’ youth set-up is set for an exciting year, looking for new successes
The different sides that make up the Yellows Academy are excited for the new challenges awaiting them in 2021. After a year affected by the pandemic, even if there were still a lot of happy moments and great achievements, the Yellows youth teams continue to work hard to try and improve year on year and progress in their formation as young Villarreal CF talents.
Villarreal B, with play-ofs in the horizon
One of the teams who dream of making 2021 a year to remember is Villarreal B. Miguel Álvarez’s side are currently third in Segunda División B Group 3B, and are on a seven-match unbeaten run. After a season where the B team were just three points off the play-off positions when the league was suspended, the aim for this new season is once more to be towards the top of the table to aspire to get promotion to Segunda División.
Villarreal C want to continue growing in a tough league
Villarreal C will continue trying to progress in the difficult Tercera División Group 6 North in 2021. After an up-and-down start to the season, the C team’s project continues to form young talents emerging from the Yellows Academy, giving them necessary experience. It’s an aim that Miguel Ángel Tena’s will continue to have in the second half of the season.
The U19s, dreaming of retaining the title
The U19s (Juvenil A) will try and repeat last season’s league win in Group 7B of the División de Honor. Under the orders of Pere Martí, the U19s are top of the league with 25 points and will try and continue their great run to play in the Copa de Campeones and try and retain the league title for the third season in a row.
The U16s and U14s will try and win the league
Villarreal CF U16s (Cadete A) and U14s (Infantil A) will both fight to win their respective league titles. Both teams are currently top of the table, and their aims for 2021 will be to stay in first place after neither side lifting the league title next season.
The U12s, a nice path to follow
In a different season due to the pandemic, the U12s (Alevín A) are top of their league, Alevín Preferente Group 1. The Yellows will try and win the league title and take part in the LaLiga Promises competition, which didn’t take place last season due to the pandemic, usually taking part at the Pamesa Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa) in recent years. They will also get ready to leave eight-a-side football behind at the end of the season, taking the step up to 11-a-side.
Continue working on forming themselves under the club’s methodology
All Yellows Academy sides will continue working under Villarreal CF’s methodology in 2021, to continue forming themselves, both as a person and with the values that the club identifies. They will also continue following the successful healthcare protocol put into place at the start of the pandemic, which has reduced cases of the virus, to try and protect all players.
