The tournament will kick off next Friday with more than 120 teams participating
Everything is ready. At midday today the presentation of the new edition of the prestigious Villarreal Yellow Cup Liga BBVA 2016 will take place in the press room at the Villarreal CF Training Ground. This year the tournament will be played on 25th, 26th and 27th March (the teams will be arriving on 24th March).
On this occasion, the tournament will be played at three different venues – the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva), the ‘Pamesa Cerámica’ Training Ground (la Ciutat Esportiva Pamesa Cerámica) and the local facility, ‘Les Alqueries’. More than 15,000 spectators are expected to enjoy the tournament daily, with more than 12,000 people staying in Benicàssim, Oropesa, Vila-real, Castellón and Canet.
This year will see more than 120 teams compete, made up of players ranging from six to nineteen years of age. The main categories are: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U19 and an U14 female category. More than 300 matches are scheduled for the Villarreal Yellow Cup Liga BBVA 2016, that will be played on both 7-a-side and 11-a-side pitches. The groups have already been drawn.
