The former Yellows Academy player returns to play under Calleja after his loan spell with Alavés
Alfonso Pedraza returns to Villarreal CF. The former Villarreal CF Academy player returns to the club to play for the first team for the upcoming campaign. The midfielder will be ready to start preseason on Monday 9th July, under the management of Javi Calleja. After successfully completing his loan period at Deportivo Alavés in the coming days, the player will be officially presented to the media as a new first team player.
Pedraza performed very well for the blue and whites. As well as being one of the LaLiga team’s key players, the young player from Cordoba scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists in the 37 games he participated in during the 2017/18 season.
The Spanish player, who was developed at the Yellows Academy, came to Villarreal CF in 2011, from Séneca CF. In the Academy he has excelled as one of the great promises of Spanish football. During his time with the U19 A team he won the League Championship and the Champions Cup. That same season, at just 18 years old, he made his debut with the first team against Valencia CF at the Mestalla stadium. The following year, he made the leap to the Villarreal B team, where he shone in a team that finished second in the league and played for promotion to the Second Division.
After his time at the Yellow Submarine, Alfonso Pedraza also played on loan at Lugo and Leeds United.
Welcome back to Villarreal CF, Alfonso!
