The Qatari striker has been officially presented as a Villarreal CF player
This morning Qatari forward Akram Afif was officially presented as a new Villarreal CF First Team player, in an event that took place in the Press Room at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) and was attended by the club’s Vice President, José Manuel Llaneza.
The player, who has signed for Villarreal CF for four seasons, assured that it is a challenge for him: “It is a dream for me. I am very happy to be at one of the best teams in Spain. I am going to work really hard here, to learn from the players around me and then take this experience with me when I play for Qatar”.
Afif played for the Villarreal Academy for a short time and therefore expressed how happy he is to return to the Yellows: “I feel at home here. I’ve really liked this club ever since I was first here”.
Llaneza: “Afif is the best player from Qatar”
At the event, club Vice President, José Manuel Llaneza, highlighted the hopes the club has for the young player: “We’ve been following him for some time. Akram will join the First Team and will be there for pre-season. We are truly excited because he is the best player from Qatar. From now on, our second National team after the Spain is Qatar”.
To finish the presentation, Llaneza wanted to emphasise the support and confidence that Villarreal has for players that will be the club’s future: “This year we have already had players of 19 and 20 years old in the First Team squad and they have been key figures. We are a club that gives young players a chance”.
