Villarreal B comfortably beat UE Cornellà in a complete performance by the Yellows
What an exhibition of talent and quality! Villarreal B put three past UE Cornellà in the Mini Estadi in their second win in two ties. Miguel Álvarez’s side didn’t only get a 3-0 win, but also got good feelings and the reward of staying at the top of Group 2 of the Primera RFEF Footters. All of that in the first match at home in the newly-formed division, with the public in the stands of the stadium.
From the starting whistle, the Yellows showed their superiority on the pitch. After an excellent start to the game, with half an hour on the clock, Villarreal B opened the scoring with a goal from Juan Carlos Arana. The Canarian forward beat the opposition goalkeeper after getting on the end of an excellent Pacheco pass in the box at the end of a move started by Nicolás Jackson.
Before half-time, the Mini Submarine increased their lead. In the 39th minute, Dela sent the ball into the back of the net with an unstoppable header from a Sergio Lozano corner.
Only three minutes after the break, Arana scored an absolute ‘golazo’. The striker controlled the ball with his back to goal, got away from his marker and fired past the opposition goalkeeper. It was 3-0 on the scoreboard at the Mini Estadi.
Álvarez’s side, with a clear lead, continued to play nice football and could have even got a fourth. However, the Yellows ended the game with a 3-0 win, which sees them lead the new Primera RFEF Footters división.
