Unai Emery backs his team to be demanding against a Real Betis side who dominate and have a lot of quality
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming game against Real Betis at the Estadio de la Cerámica (Sunday, 6:30pm CEST).
Real Betis: A quality team who play good football
“Real Betis are an opponent with a very defined playing style. They’re a team who link up well, and have players who like to have the ball, attacking full-backs, strong defensive midfielders, and a lot of quality too. They’re on a great run. We know they’re a team that want to dominate and try and push you back from the start until the end. We have to be capable of being focused for the entire 90 minutes.”
A direct opponent
“The match against Real Betis is an opportunity against a direct opponent who is going to fit for the same objectives as us at the end of the season. We are preparing for it as much as possible.”
Villarreal, growing and improving
“The team is growing. We have to make small improvements and live experiences. We cannot concede certain chances at certain points of the match. What we are doing well, we will strengthen, and we will also focus on what we are not as satisfied on and try and improve it.”
The return of public to the Estadio de la Cerámica without capacity restrictions
“The return of fans and a full stadium capacity at the Estadio de la Cerámica is very important. We want to feel that our ground is a fortress. It’s our home, we’ve got our people there. We want the fan to come and that helps us to be stronger at home.”
Yeremy Pino’s call-up with Spain
“The call from Spain is great for him, and something the club are proud of. Villarreal has always backed the academy. There aren’t many clubs like this. The players have great conditions and are really keen, they have chances to develop.”
