Miguel Álvarez assures that he is “delighted” to face a tough opponent like Atlético Sanluqueño, Saturday, 6:30pm CEST before facing the promotion play-offs
Villarreal B coach Miguel Álvarez spoke today at the press conference ahead of the final game of the season in the Primera RFEF, which will take place this Saturday at 6:30pm CEST against Atlético Sanluqueño at El Palmar. The Groguet B team have the challenge of finishing second in the league to earn the right to certain advantages in the play-offs. These are the statements of the coach from Jaén:
How the team is looking
“We’re doing well. People are very excited about the situation we’re in. We’re going to Sanluqueño with the motivation to win and finish second. We have Jackson, Lozano and Diego Collado back. These are very good news.”
“It will be a very tough game, but I’m delighted that it will be like this and, above all, before facing a play-off. We’re going to compete as we always do because we’re a team that always plays the same way, whether we win or lose. They’ve changed coach and they’ve taken four points in these two games without conceding a goal. They are a totally different team. If we win, great, and if not, we’ll have competed at a high level before the play-offs.”
Advantages of being second
“On Monday we’ll know who we’re up against. We want to finish second because of the importance of the advantage in case of a draw in the final. If we finish third, we would have an advantage in the semi-final, but not in the final depending on who qualifies. It depends on many things, but right now we are in a situation where we need to enjoy ourselves and the most important thing is the mentality with which we compete for promotion. If a draw isn’t enough, we’ll go for the win.”
