The B team get an important point at the Carlos Belmonte and continue their positive run
Villarreal B drew against Albacete BP (0-0) and picked up a valuable away point to extend their positive run following the win against FC Andorra at the Mini Estadi and have taken four points from their last two LaLiga SmartBank games.
Villarreal B had a big challenge ahead of them: to get a positive result at a stadium like the Carlos Belmonte with their two regular midfielders, Carlo Adriano and Alberto del Moral, with the first team as they tried to get their second consecutive win. Miguel Álvarez’s men came out with determination and the first approach men was not long in coming as Migue Leal’s cross from the right flank sailed just wide of the six-yard box. On the half-hour mark, Dani Tasende made a similar move with a cross into the box, but the ball ended up in the corner.
Albacete hardly created any danger in the first half with Adrián de la Fuente and Mbacke superlative, although they did hit a post on the stroke of half-time. The Mini Submarine executed attacks with Rodri Alonso and Tiago Geralnik in charge of keeping them at bay. In the first half, both teams respected each other and didn’t want to concede first.
In the second half, the home side put the pressure on and had a number of chances in the opening minutes, encouraged by the home crowd. However, a triple substitution by Miguel Álvarez saw Alex Forés, Antonio Pacheco and Thiago Ojeda come on and Diego Collado had the first goal in his boots with a shot from the edge of the area that Bernabé saved.
Albacete were dangerous in attack, but Filip Jorgensen performed well when the team needed him and was very safe in every action. Villarreal B picked up a good away point against an impressive opponent, a very positive result to build on the the last home win.
